Mumbai Railways Announce Special Late-Night Trains for Ganeshotsav

Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway have announced the operation of special suburban train services to accommodate devotees. These additional trains will run during the late-night hours to cater to the needs of those participating in the festivities. Central Railway will introduce special suburban trains on the main line between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Thane/Kalyan on the Intervening nights of September 14th/15th, 15th/16th, and 17th/18th.

These services are designed to supplement the regular schedule, which often leaves a service gap during the night. On the Harbour line, CR will operate special suburban trains on the night of September 17th/18th to assist devotees during the Ganpati immersion. These trains will run between CSMT and Panvel, providing additional transportation options for those participating in the final rituals. Western Railway has also announced the operation of four pairs of extra special local trains to accommodate the increased passenger load on the intervening night of September 17th/18th. These trains will operate between Churchgate and Virar, providing additional capacity for commuters during the peak period.

The Introduction of these special train services demonstrates the railways’ commitment to ensuring smooth travel for devotees during Ganeshotsav. By providing additional transportation options, the railways aim to alleviate congestion and improve the overall travel experience for commuters. The decision to operate special trains on the main line and Harbour line highlights the railways’ efforts to cater to the diverse needs of passengers during the festival. These initiatives are expected to play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth conduct of Ganeshotsav celebrations in Mumbai.
