Central Railway has embarked on a comprehensive cleanliness drive across its network in Maharashtra, focusing on neglected areas and stations. This initiative aims to enhance the overall cleanliness and hygiene of railway stations and tracks, providing a more pleasant experience for passengers.

The drive has seen significant progress, with various sections of the railway network witnessing a remarkable transformation. Railway tracks in Neral and Igatpuri have been cleared of debris and litter, while the dead-end of the diesel loco shed at Kalyan has been cleaned to improve visibility and safety. The Central Railway has also organized “Rail Chaupal” sessions to engage with the public and raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness. These sessions have encouraged public participation and fostered a sense of ownership among passengers. In addition to track and station cleaning, the railway staff has been actively involved in cleaning their respective workplaces.

The Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer’s office has initiated regular cleaning drives, ensuring a clean and hygienic work environment. The cleaning efforts have extended to railway colonies as well. The Tadiwala Railway Colony in Pune, the Chandrapur Railway Colony, and the Modi Railway Colony in Solapur have undergone intensive cleaning and beautification. By prioritizing cleanliness and hygiene, Central Railway is not only improving the passenger experience but also contributing to a cleaner and greener environment. This initiative reflects the railway’s commitment to providing a safe, comfortable, and sustainable transportation service.
