Efkon-Strabag Partners with IITs for infra-Innovation

Efkon-Strabag, a leading provider of smart infrastructure solutions in India, has formed strategic partnerships with premier institutions, including IIT Bombay, IIT Mandi, and IIT Roorkee, to spearhead advancements in transportation systems, landslide management, and road safety education.

The collaboration with IIT Bombay aims to enhance knowledge management, joint projects, and engagement activities. This partnership encompasses various dimensions of innovation, including knowledge creation, technology development, and human resource enhancement. Together, they will conduct joint studies and research on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), providing internship opportunities for students and fostering an exchange of ideas and skills. This alliance also seeks to develop an ecosystem that promotes collaboration between academia and industry, contributing expertise to research consortia and engaging in skill-building programs and workshops.

With IIT Mandi, Efkon-Strabag is focused on implementing cutting-edge technologies to improve safety and efficiency on hill roads. This initiative includes Landslide Management Solutions (LMS), which utilise advanced technologies to provide early warnings to vehicles and individuals during landslides. The goal is to significantly reduce accidents and save lives on highways prone to such natural hazards. With IIT Roorkee, Efkon-Strabag has launched an extensive Road Safety Awareness programme specifically designed for children. This initiative aims to educate young minds about responsible road behaviour, thereby reducing accidents among the youth. The programme includes a comprehensive course on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to equip students with the necessary skills to excel in the industry, fostering innovation and addressing evolving transportation needs.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Efkon-Strabag and these esteemed institutions emphasises commitments to knowledge creation, technology development, joint research on ITS-related issues, and collaborative engagement activities. These activities include research projects, skill-building programs, and workshops designed to enhance knowledge sharing and skill development within the industry.
